Welcome to Elevate Me, the first stop for all your employment, training and education information in the Slough area.
Finding the right opportunity in employment, training or education is a difficult journey at the best of times, but even more so today when the economy is still in recovery and the world of work is changing rapidly
Slough Borough Council, local colleges, Job Centre Plus, businesses, training providers, support agencies – have come together to try to make that journey easier for you to navigate. We’ve all pooled our knowledge and networks to give you information at your fingertips.
Elevate Slough is part of Elevate Berkshire, an employment and skills programme funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). The programme supports young people aged 16 - 24 in Berkshire into employment, education or training.
Employment: Elevate Berkshire is designed with young people in mind, putting our wealth of experience to good use helping our customers into work. We will be looking into apprenticeships, traineeships, internships and work experience. Our goal is to help you get onto the first rung of the ladder to a potential career, gaining that vital support and experience you need to develop your skills within the work environment.
Education: We will help customers who have not yet gained their basic skills by providing the option to improve literacy and numeracy skills with our partners. There will also be access to ESOL support with our partners for those who require it.
Training: We will be looking to help our customers by providing access to vocational training with our partners, enabling you to be better equipped to find a job in your chosen field.
Currently, our programme is being run by Kennedy Scott and they are supporting two priority streams of residents in Slough into employment, education and training:
• young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET);
• unemployed or economically inactive lone parents in Slough.
